Lady Mountaineer Basketball Coaching Staff
Brandon Taylor - Head Coach
Brandon Taylor is in his first season as head coach of the Eastern Oklahoma State College Women’s basketball program and his sixth season overall with the team.
During his time at Eastern, Taylor has coached two NJCAA All-Americans; NJCAA Academic All-Americans; one NJCAA Region II MVP; two NJCAA Region II All-Tournament Team player; four NJCAA Region II All-Region players; four NJCAA OCAC All-Conference players; and five NJCAA OCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention players.
He previously spent two years with Texas Southern University. Prior to Texas Southern, Taylor assisted with junior college power Trinity Valley Community College. There he gained valuable experience working with a program which boasted four straight years of conference and regional championships. Trinity advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships in back-to-back seasons while Taylor was with the school. Taylor received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Texas Southern University.
Taylor is a native of Nacogdoches, Texas.
Samaria Howard - Assistant Coach
Samaria Howard is in her first season as assistant women’s basketball coach for Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Prior to coming to Eastern, Howard spent two years overseas playing basketball for teams in Greece and Spain. Before that, Howard completed an outstanding playing career at Tennessee Technical University where she led the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with 23.3 points per game. In both 2015 and 2016, Howard earned the Conference’s Player of the Year title and was named to the All-Ohio 1st Team. Her other achievements include surpassing 1,000 points in two years and being named the Ohio Valley Newcomer of the Week three times.
Howard earned a bachelor’s of science degree in exercise science from Tennessee Technical University in 2016 and currently resides in Wilburton.
De'Amber Brice - Assistant Coach
De’Amber Brice enters her first year assistant coaching. De ’Amber was a member of the women’s basketball team at Eastern during the 2013-14 season. She served as a captain and was viewed as the leader of the team. She was influential in the Lady Mountaineer’s run to the Region 2 conference championship run and a 26-6 finish during the 2013-14 season. Brice received the NJCAA All-American award while playing for Eastern, also with a Region 2 conference player of the year, and OCAC Region 2 All-Conference Team.
De’Amber is a firm believer in, “working hard in silence, but letting your success be the noise.”
Brice is a native of Denton, Texas
