Reed Family Trust continues support of Eastern’s ranch management program
WILBURTON, OK (Jan. 17, 2020) – The Reed Family Trust of Poteau recently made its fourth donation to the Eastern Oklahoma State College Development Foundation as a result of the sale of stocker cattle in the college’s ranch management degree program.
The Reed Family Trust purchased the cattle for use on Eastern’s farm and proceeds from the sale will support the Agriculture Division. Bob Reed is the chairman of The Community State Bank, which was created in 1970 and has locations in Wilburton, Poteau, Spiro, Wister and Talihina. He said the Reed Family Trust is happy to continue its support of Eastern students.
Students in the ranch management degree program were responsible for the day-to-day management of the stocker herd, including feeding and maintaining the health of the cattle.
