EOSC’s Children’s Theatre to present “Totally RED!”

WILBURTON, OK (Feb. 5, 2016) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Children’s Theatre will present two performances of “Totally RED!” by Dinah Toups, with shows scheduled Feb. 10 and 11 at 6 p.m. in the Johnnie Wray Theatre located in Pratt Hall.

The general public is invited to join Eastern students and local area elementary students as they perform this fun retelling of Charles Perrault’s classic fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood.”

Director Marshall Carby said “Totally RED!” begins with a humorous recitation of the tale in storybook theatre style. The story will then be retold in sections in multiple styles including: melodrama (“The Perils of Being Miss Red”), Elizabethan (“Much Ado about Red”), 80s hip-hop slang (“REDz in the Hood”), and avant-garde (“Call the Moment RED”).

The cast of “Totally RED!” includes Maddie Kraft of Savanna as Red; Tarius Dawson of Lockhart, Tex. as the Wolf; Monique Ball of Wilburton as Mother; Kaylinn Dawson of Haileyville as Granny; and Angel Bonilla of Idabel as the Woodsman. Bonilla, Dawson and Ball as well as Kayla Carr of Checotah, and Austin Graham of McAlester will perform as the chorus. Carr and Graham will also serve as narrators, while Dawson serves as the Stage Manager.

Admission for adults and children is $1 and free to students who present their EOSC ID.
