EOSC launches new online scholarship application AwardSpring
WILBURTON, OK (Jan. 29, 2016) – Eastern Oklahoma State College has launched a new online scholarship application to make it easier for current and prospective students to apply for funds. The priority scholarship application deadline is Feb. 21.
Scholarship Coordinator Gail Wilson said the college is using AwardSpring, an online scholarship management system that serves as a database for all of Eastern’s institutional and Development Foundation scholarships. The new online application, as well as general scholarship information and a step-by-step user guide can be found at eosc.edu/scholarships.
“We are very excited about launching this new program,” Wilson said. “This streamlines the application process for students, as well as for the reviewers. We want it to be as simple as possible for students to apply for scholarship funds to continue their education.”
Wilson said the new systems allows student to apply for all scholarships with a single application and submit supporting materials such as transcripts and letters of recommendation electronically. Based on the demographic and educational information provided, students will be automatically matched with scholarships for which they are eligible.
For the current academic year, Eastern awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships to 148 area students attending classes in Wilburton, McAlester, Idabel and Antlers. Wilson said all applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee and students receiving scholarships will be notified this spring.
