EOSC Homecoming festivities start with Community Chili Cook-Off Nov. 9


WILBURTON, OK (Oct. 26, 2015) – Eastern Oklahoma State College will kick off its 2015 Homecoming festivities with a Community Chili Cook-Off on Monday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Goddard Building.

The event is touted as an evening of great chili, as well as an opportunity to connect with classmates, friends, professors, and other members of the Mountaineer community. Participants can purchase a “taster bowl” for $3. The event is free for students who present a valid Eastern ID.

Entry forms for participating teams need to be submitted to the Office of Institutional Advancement by Nov. 5 to ensure space availability. Each team will need to have at least a six-quart crockpot of their chili ready for judging at 6 p.m. 

The International Chili Society’s rules and regulations will be used to judge this event. According to the I.C.S., chili can be “any kind of meat or combination of meats, cooked with various spices and other ingredients, with the exception of beans or pasta.” Also, no garnish is allowed.
