Eastern Music Department to present Spring Concert March 27


WILBURTON, OK (March 24, 2014) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will help inspire your spring fever with the college’s annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 in Mitchell Auditorium.

“We’ve selected colorful and exciting music for the band, as well as some contemporary pop music pieces for the choir performances,” said Director Dr. Brandon Hendrix. “It will be a fun evening to enjoy great music and help welcome springtime in Wilburton.”

The concert band will perform “Celtic Voyage,” “Autumn Hill” and “Whiteleaf Hill.” The concert will also include choir performances of “Shambala,” “Wherever You Will Go,” “Lucky,” “Someone Like You” and “Some Nights.”

Dr. Hendrix will direct the performance, while Carissa Hendrix will serve as the accompanist. The concert is free and open to the public.

Students performing in the Concert Band include Lacy Dunlap and Glen Kendrick of Wilburton; Patricia Craig of McAlester; Shirlene Green of Hartshorne; and Joshua Few of Stigler.

Eastern’s Concert Choir includes Lacy Dunlap of Wilburton; Shirlene Green of Hartshorne; Jesseca Shipman of Kiowa; Joshua Few of Stigler; Matthew Little of Clayton; and Monique Johnson of San Marcos, Tex.
