Eastern Music Department to present Fall Concert Oct. 22
WILBURTON, OK (Oct. 14, 2019) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will present its annual Fall Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium in Wilburton.
Dr. Brandon Hendrix, Eastern’s director of instrumental and choral ensembles, will lead his students in the showcase of talent. The evening will feature classically-themed performances by the Concert Band and Concert Choir. The student-led Eastern Expressions will perform an assortment of contemporary hits.
The Concert Band will open the show with “China Grove” and “Freedom City March.” The Concert Choir will follow with four selections including “Amazing” and “Just Believe” by PinkZebra, “This Morning Paradise” by Vicki Tucker Courtney, and “The Water is Wide,” a traditional folk song arranged by Jay Althouse.
The Eastern Expressions will perform their renditions of Train’s “Drops of Jupiter,” Extreme’s “More Than Words,” Hoobastank’s “The Reason,” and One Republic’s “Apologize.”
Joslyn Crocker will close the evening with a solo performance of Lauren Daigle’s “You Say.”
Students performing this year include Leila Aaron, Devon Cox, Hannah Gockel and Brianna Stockton of Wilburton; Christian Scarberry of Clayton; Alton Jones and Hannah Posey of McAlester; Caden Phillips of Buffalo Valley; Joslyn Crocker, Gabriel Gibson and Ali Leading of Crowder; Lisa Mathes of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
