Eastern Athletics to host baseball and softball youth camps this summer


WILBURTON, OK (June 18, 2018) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Athletic Department will host a baseball Prospect Camp on Monday, July 2 and softball All-Skills Camp the following Monday and Tuesday, July 9-10. Registration is open now for both events.

Baseball’s Prospect Camp is designed for all current high-school players in the region. Starting at 9 a.m., Eastern’s coaching staff will conduct the camp similar to a professional try-out camp. This format will include position player skill evaluations, a 60-yard dash and batting practice. Pitchers will throw a bullpen to evaluate arm strength and ability. Participants will receive recruiting exposure while honing their athletic abilities. The cost to attend this camp is $75.

Eastern Softball’s All-Skills camp will focus on throwing, fielding, base running and hitting. Participants in 1st through 6th grade will train from 9 a.m. to noon and grades 7th through 12th will train from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. An optional pitching/catching session will take place from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The schedule will remain the same for both days of camp. Camp fees include a camp T-shirt and will cost $75 including the optional pitching/catching session, or $60 without.
