Admissions Counseling

The Counseling Center provides academic, career and personal counseling to students and prospective students. New students will be assisted by a counselor in scheduling classes and choosing a career goal. Students are assigned a faculty advisor who has expertise in the student's chosen educational field. The Counseling Center is located at the Student Enrollment Center on the first floor of the Bill H. Hill Library.

Counseling Center Services

Our Counseling Center offers counseling in the following areas:

Academic Counseling
The Counseling Center provides assistance to students in selecting appropriate class schedules. Counselors will assist students in developing a degree plan to insure that course requirements are met for graduation.

Transfer Counseling
The Counseling staff maintains contact with representatives from four-year colleges and universities to provide students with current transfer information and degree requirements. A resource area is available containing transfer information, transfer guides, brochures, college catalogs, scholarship forms and applications. Course transfer information for many of Oklahoma's public colleges and universities is also available on the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education website.

Career / Undecided Counseling
Counselors provide personal inventory tests including assessment of skills, interests, and values to assist students in making career choices. Resource books and computer programs regarding careers, career descriptions, career salaries and outlooks are available for students unsure of their academic major.

Personal Counseling
Counselors provide assistance in personal counseling in cooperation with available community and state agencies. Students can be referred for additional counseling services and crisis intervention if needed or requested.
