Eastern’s fifth annual Community Chili Cook-Off set for Nov. 4 during Homecoming Week


WILBURTON, OK (Oct. 25, 2019) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s fifth annual Community Chili Cook-Off is set for Monday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Tourtellotte Student Center Ballroom. The event is planned to open Eastern’s 2019 Homecoming week festivities.

Individuals, businesses or teams are invited to enter the friendly competition and participants can sample the variety of chili recipes. The event is free and open to the public.

The competition will recognize the best recipe in three categories, as well as a “Taster’s Choice” award voted on by all in attendance. Categories include Community Members and Organizations, Eastern Faculty and Staff, and Eastern Student Organizations.

Participants will need to prepare at least a six-quart crock-pot of their chili ready for judging at 6 p.m. A six-foot table and two chairs will be provided, but teams will need to supply their own desired table decorations.

Entry forms for competing teams and individuals must be submitted by noon on Nov. 4 for setup purposes. Visit eosc.edu/homecoming for the complete competition rules, entry forms and additional information concerning all of Eastern’s 2019 Homecoming festivities.
