Eastern soccer competing well under new head coach
WILBURTON (Sept. 12, 2016) – Eastern Oklahoma State College Soccer brings the world's most popular sport to southeast Oklahoma, and this season has been kicked off on the right foot.
The Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers, with first-year head coach Trevor Harmon, started their seasons off earning a pair of wins at home, with a final score of 3-0 and 3-1 respectively against Coffeyville Community College. From then, both teams have seen increasing success.
The most recent matches for the Lady Mountaineers was Hill College, in which they won by a score of 2-1. The Mountaineers, meanwhile, recently faced off with Bacone College, winning that contest 4-3. With the current records standing at an undefeated 4-0 for the Lady Mountaineers and 3-2 for the Mountaineers, Eastern Soccer is looking to stick to its winning ways.
Next up for Big Blue is Ranger College, who will be traveling to Wilburton on Wednesday, Sept. 14 to take on both formidable teams. The Lady Mountaineers will kick off at 1 p.m. with the Mountaineers following at 3 p.m. After that, both teams will be on the road before returning home on Thursday, Sept. 29, as they battle with conference foe NOC-Tonkawa.
