Eastern Music Department to present Spring Concert March 9
WILBURTON, OK (Feb. 23, 2017) – Eastern Oklahoma State College’s Music Department will present its annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 in Mitchell Auditorium.
“Once again, it is our honor to help welcome springtime here in Wilburton,” said Dr. Brandon Hendrix, Eastern’s director of instrumental and choral ensembles. “We have prepared a selection of songs intended to showcase our students’ talent and put our audience in the spirit of spring.”
The Concert Band will open the show with performances including Green Day’s “American Idiot” and The J. Geils Band’s “Centerfold.” Following the concert band will be performances by the Concert Choir, which will include renditions of John Legend’s “All of Me” and Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up.”
The Eastern Expressions will close the Concert with presentations of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” and Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey,” among others.
The community is invited to enjoy this free concert, which will be directed by Dr. Hendrix.
Students performing in this year’s show include Leila Aaron, Triston Boling, Joe Dunagan and Colt Petty of Wilburton; Chris Ainsworth of Gowen; Kaycie Cabrera of McAlester; Kayla Carr of Checotah; Victoria Cole of Kiowa; Clay Hawes of Talihina; Zana Johnson of Kinta; Nicholos Martindale of Howe; Dante Miller of Quinton; Rebecca Needham of Clayton and Kayla Ward of Antlers.
